Moderated messages, modify a message, accents

Sacabouffe, on Monday April 7, 2008 01:10:23 PM
Hi

1) When a message is moderated, the reason is written in french on kioskea. So I suppose that the email sent to the person who posted the message is also in french, no?

2) I also saw that the french accents don't always appear on kioskea. Admittedly we usually don't need them here but... perhaps it can be useful sometimes. I think they don't appear for the messages, signatures, motto/proverb, moderation warnings and so on... coming from commentcamarche. But I'm not sure, I don't know exactly how both parts of the forum works.

3) On kioskea a member can't modify his message during one hour like on commentcamarche.

4) According to fleursdespyrenees, the translation Member's corner isn't correct. We should write Members' corner (if you want to use a possessive case) or Member corner (if you want to use a noun complement), you can see her topic for the explanations: http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-3810-why

I think that'all... for the moment :-D

Hi everyone
I had also some questions:
1) Why did you choose to use 0 GMT on kioskea?
2) I didn't remark it before fleursdespyrenees wrote it to me but there's no Contributors forum on kioskea whereas there's a Moderators forum, is there a reason?

Hello Sacabouffe,
No there is nobody here ;-)),
It seems that if you have some suggestions about en.kioskea, they should be done on CCM to be read.
Here, there are only ghosts who wander ^^

Hi! I'm not alone! :-D
Only ghosts...euh... :-(
In fact that's funny because I finally made these suggestions in CCM in the Moderators forum about 1h before you wrote your message.
It seems that the first point is settled. I only remaked it after my message in CCM. Never mind, all the other points are still topical.
So... perhaps these suggestions have been read in fact, I don't know...

I've also asked some questions in the Moderators forum in kioskea yesterday (before my message in CCM):
1) Where can we put the messages about Internet/Chat?
2) Where can we put the messages about Cameras?
For the moment I put the messages 1 in Software and the messages 2 in Hardawre, what do you think about it?

Hi,

When I said "ghosts", I refer to the fact that member profiles are empty (exept CCM's members) : no citation, no avatar, no sex ... just a pseudo, are they robots ? :-DDD

Like you, I think it would be necessary to add :
1) some technical forums
2) a contributors forum to explain : how to write and format a faq's article , how to add software in the download section (because exept 3 of them which are placed at the creation of en.kioskea, nobody did it exept me) ...

But I also know that Jeff and his team try to do everything they can and have a lot of work with the 3 websites then we must be patient.

See you soon

PS : I hope my english is not too bad because if I understand it, I don't often practice it.

Hi aquarelle
It's so sad... Nobody filled his profile. Perhaps we should write a message a new topic to ask the members to do that. Not sure it will work but...

I agree with you for the contributors forum.
But first we can try to translate these tips:
http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 5924 mise en forme des articles de la base de connaissance
http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 4900 commentcamarche inserer une image dans la faq
Nonetheless, to add softwares in the download section, I think that there's also nothing on CCM, am I right?

3 websites, don't you forget that there's Droit/Finances and Santé/Médecine? :-p

See you !

PS : I don't think you're english is worse than mine :-D Some folks are born made to wave the flag, ooo, they're red, white and blue.

Hi sacabouffe,

I think it's a good idea to translate these 2 useful tips and you are right, there are no tips concerning the download section on CCM but when someone becomes contributor, he can ask any questions about the various tasks given by his status in the contributor's forum and a former will respond. But this is not possible on en.kioskea for the moment.

Right, I'm going to try to begin translation of the first link you have given.

See you soon.

Well, I have started the translation of the article but encounter some problems.
1) The use of [[]] with a keyword does not work on en.kioskea.
2) The code tags do not retain some layout.

Here is a party, test it with the preview : http://cjoint.com/data/fcxFhxS8wV.htm

What can we do ?

Hi aquarelle
I finally looked at your translation and I did some trials (I didn't try the code tags).

I don't know anything about webmastering but I think that one of the problem with the use of [[]] is that the pages here have kept the same name as in CCM. Look for example the page of the mother board:
http://en.kioskea.net/pc/carte-mere.php3
However I tried also with "carte mere" instead of "motherboard" to see if the link is automatically done in this way but... same thing...
Perhaps it could be a good idea to write the problem in CCM. Do you want me to do it in the Modo forum? Or do you want to do it yourself in the Contributeur forum?

Hello Sacabouffe,
Did you have more replies about this problem on the moderators forum or is it the same thing than on the contributors forum ?
See you

Hi aquarelle
It's exactly the same thing :-(
Perhaps, for the moment, you can try to do all the things without caring about the problems, if it's possible.
The problem will be settled one day or another... I hope...

Hi Sacabouffe,
I followed your suggestion, I still created the trick (it wasn't easy ) but I didn't translate the part concerning the anchors because I didn't understand their usefulness and their function.
Please, would you look at it and correct it if necessary : http://en.kioskea.net/faq/sujet-63-formatting-articles-of-the-knowledge-base
In any case, thank you again for your support.
Have a good night and see you soon.

Hi
Great!!!
Now we should tell to the contributors that can write some tips using these pieces of advice. But they don't reply to the PM and they don't often read the suggestions I think... :-(

For the anchors, I didn't understand at the beginning. I think that's OK now. I think it's the same thing as [ http://www.google.fr/ Google ] when you want to give a name to a link.
You can do the same thing in a tip, you can give a name to the link which goes to a title or a subtitle in the tip.
For example (let's imagine a tip :-D):

We are in the section 3...

... If you already have this software, then go directly to the [ #5-Configure-the-marvellous-software section 5 ] to configure it

I think it's something like that...

Hi,
Thank you for your explanation about the anchors, I think I understood and I will complete the article soon. But I need your help again because when I wrote the article I would be a little bit tired ;-)) then ... it isn't in the right category, would you move it kioskea/FAQ, please.
Thank you.
Good day.
