Hello,
My friend gave me an Ipod shuffle after he bought an iPod touch, four days after buying this thing. But, in those four days, he lost the CD that you use to download iTunes and such. I have tryed to download if from online, but it doesn't work. I KNOW that haveing Windows ME doesn't help that much, so I am searching for the Windows XP disk I have from my other computer in my basement.

I was wondering, if I did upgrade to XP from ME, would I still have to find someone with the iPod CD, or even buy one? The Apple site says that you need XP to download it, and it will work fine. (I just wanted to try it, I do that.)

I hope someone can help! I spent a good seven hours last night trying to fix the XP thing and all.

Thanks!

Configuration: Windows Me!
Internet Explorer 5.5

Yep even if he did find the iTunes Cd you would still need to upgrade your OS because iTunes works only with Mac and XP and Vista

You dont need a cd click on th itunes website and do what it says from there. if you are using a cd to put songs on your ipod put it in the computer and the computer should take you thru it i had the same trouble when i got mine you MIGHT also need to format the songs.. hope this helps :)

Hi all,
Not sure if this problem is similar, but I bought an Ipod shuffle and as per one of these messages I did not need a cd. The instructions said that if I plugged it in to the USB it would go to a installation Wizard. This did not happen. In fact it flashed orange (indicating it was charging) for 2 days until I thought well that is not working. I then downloaded i-tunes and it showed green for fully charged.
I put in over 100 songs from cd's we already have and it worked great, until it went flat. I put it on charge and it eventually charged fully, but it wiped all the songs???
What did I do wrong. I did take the song so off the computer when I knew they were on the ipod?
Anyone?

Your an idiot, you must have the song (the actual MP3 or AAC file) on your hard drive when syncing it so that it stays on. Without it, it removes it from the iPod.
