Hi
It seems like your laptop has been effected with boot sector virus.
if you have a paid for anti virus software and you have it on cd then do one thing, shut down your LT and restart and press F8. that will give you option how to start your laptop, choose one says just safemode. Do not connect to internet.
and then clean your laptop with following steps.
1) start-prgram-accesseries-systems tools-disk clean.
2) start-control panel-internet option-general-browsing history-dlelete all-yes
3)start-run-%temp%-enter-ctrl+A-delete-yes.
4) Uninstall the program after which you started facing this problem, this is very important, if you dont do it then the above 3 steps wont be able to prevent you to keep on having virus problem.
once all 4 steps has been performed, then incert your antivirus disk in cd rom drive and then shut down your laptop. (Must Have your anti virus disk handy as you will use it on next reboot.)
wait for 2-3 minutes and then restart the laptop. (hence you have your antivirus disk in side your laptop, it is a bootable disk too so use to start the system with that disk)
It will ask you something like... do you want to start system from cd choose yes. and then run full scan this should clean your hard drive.
This should be enough to clear the virus. One more important thing is to change yoru password with following variation. One capital letter, one number and one sign on your number keys | - !@#$%^&*() |this will make your password stronger. and it is difficult for hacker to have your password eazy.
