Hello,
I have a bsnl broadband connection with type-2 modem ie. with wifi . Authorities said that rather than
using the internet thru the pc to which modem is wired, it is possible to connect wireless laptop (wifi). But
I want to connect 1 more pc so that internet is accessible. But as u know PC has no built in wifi support.
Somebody told me that i can make use of a USB-WIFI adapter and access internet wireless using PC.
Is it true ? What are the configuration to be made . How much this adapter costs . pls help

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

If you have a small range within your PC and modem, say less than 5 meters, you can check out for 802.11b offers at ebay

Hi prasanth
If u have got a type-ii modem(i have the same, model no DNA-A211-1), then it must be having 4 ethernet ports on the backside. you can connect 4 wired PC(through ethernet card or network interface card or simple LAN card) and upto 255 wifi devices through that modem...
the modem must have got one ethernet wire(white color)which you can connect one end to the PC and the other to one of the four ports on the back of the modem....
then you got to configure your modem with the username and password that you got from BSNL...take help of the driver cd provided with the modem

It's true. Using USB Wi-Fi you can access I-net. You can see the current price of any Wifi-USB device searching in google or any computer Gadget Shop. I think now you are clear... (Don't Worry!!! every settings are being instructed there... with the help notes..Enjoy)
