Keyboard error

Hello,


Working on a Dell dimension 4300 1.6 GHz P4. Trying to install Win XP home and get a post error saying plug & play configuration error, press F1 to continue or F2 to enter set up. I read the error report after hitting F2 and it says keyboard error. This is a known good P/S2 keyboard. When windows starts copying set up files, it hangs anywhere from 8-35% complete. I unplugged the power cord and removed the battery for a few minutes and the bios set up the IDE then had the same post error again.

Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello


Strat disconnecting devices untill you get rid of the error.

It's possible for a defective device connected to the motherboard to scramble it's brains and it reports the wrong thing.
