Connect two pc's whith wi-fi modem

Hello,
I have two laptop at home, I am using wi-fi internet by wifi adsl modem
pc 1 ip is 192.168.1.2
pc 2 ip is 192.168.1.3
modem ip is 192.168.1.1

from pc1 i get reply of ping to 192.168.1.1 also i get reply of ping from pc2 to 192.168.1.1, but when i ping from pc 1 to pc2 my request gets failed

so question is if both pc are accessing web from one wifi modem at same time both pc have same gateway so why this two pc could not get connect with eachother.

could u plz guide me.

If one PC has Vista and the other has XP - then they default to different a "Work Group" ID.

if you have a firewall on one or the other PC - it may be blocking access.

How can i configure this step . if pc1 is not pinging pc2 then loaclnetwork finish .

i wants to know how i creat this setup with good internet speed with adsl (bsnl modem)
