How can I increase the download speed?

Hello,I am using a wireless CDMA phone.Conection speed is 115.2kbps.I am allready using a download management software.but the download rate is about 5kbps.How can I increase the dowmload rate??Please help me!!!

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Try connecting it to other USB port if you still have other USB ports available.If you don't, buy a new PCI USB 2.0 hub port in order to connect the CDMA phone. There might be some problem with USB connection etc.

Your internet speed is 115.2 kbps. so divide it by 8 it comes to 14.4 so you will get a max of 14.4 & min of 10.4 kbps.
THe bandwidth is reseved for Qos(quality of services) The 115.2 kbps is your surfing speed.It may vary.I suggest that you go for a higher plan

Try using a new handset of nokia and your downloading speed can increase up to 7kbps which is maximum that i have reached....i use nokia 7210 supernova

Good, if your downloading speed is slower then it could be that alot of people are on the bandwidth so the available space is being given to you which is 5kbps. also if you want to increase your downloading speed, then try and talk to your isp and get dedicated bandwidth which is very expensive.

if your network is very slow then try and monitor traffic on the network. you could see that the bandwidth is used up.

Go to internet options then connections-settings-configure-select 92400Kbps. get connected faster if u use mobile as modem.........

Hello i am using airtel GPRS and connect the computer with bluetooth and the speed is 921.6 and i am using bitcomet 1.10 download accerator but it gives me only 10 kbps and some time the downloading is stop so it's bitcomet folt or internet please help me

That is the speed of device and computer communication not the real internet speed. to check real speed try Netmeter which shows you real current speed.

Okay, you guys are all looking to jack up your "speed" on a connection. It is not possible. Given that you have a 128 Kbps connection, your maximum download rate, assuming no QoS reservation, would be 16KB/s.

Your connection is give to you in a bit-rate. That literally means the rate at which bits can be transmitted. A bit is a single on/off switch, 1 or 0. Therefore, the most amount of bits you can receive in a second are 128,000. Which is 16 kilobytes. A byte is 8 bits.

You want more speed? Pony up the money.
