A number of TVs and DVDs have a USB port that is used to load/update the firmware and not for video signal input/output. I read the manual for the BDP-S550 DVD player and found no mention of a USB port. Here is a link to the manual:

Its a tv and cannot conned directly and usb device to it,the available usb port is for programming the tv only.
