DVD/RW will not read any disks: Windows Vista

Hello,

I have a Compaq running Windows Vista. The CD Drive just stopped working. Under device manager is says:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

And when I click update Driver it says the Driver is up to date. I don't know what to do now.... Please somebody help me.
