And I have my music on windows media player which the ipod doesn't work with. So can anyone tell me how i can put on songs/charge my ipod, etc with no itunes? P.S.~ I don't know much about the ipod, I just got mine. Thanks

You just need to plug it into itunes and it will register to that computer and you will be ok from there out bit i have had alot of truble with that puting it on through a cd and a flash drive i have thried both and nether of them work that good the best way is to download softwaer to put stuff on itunes then put it on through itunes.

I'm no expert but perhaps the tunes on the windows player are in the .wma format. I'm not sure, but it could be that the ipod won't recognize that format as it belongs to windows. I believe that itunes prefers their own .aac format, but they probably also use the almost universal .mp3 format. If your tunes aren't mp3 you could try some mp3s and see if that works.

Hi,

You can use CopyTrans Manager, it's TOTALLY FREE!

Compatible with iPhone 3G and iPod Touch (+ all other iPod of course).

Here you go: http://www.copytrans.net/manager.php

Thanks Mely!

I tried CopyTrans Manager and now I can live without it (lol)!

Seriously I got rid of iTunes to use this manager and I don't regret it. It's fast and smooth and it doesn't have this annoying message "your iPod is synced to another library blabla". Two thumbs up!

Gosh yall, all you need to do is have the driver for your ipod (so you can enter the hardrive and things and veiwable ) then go to my computer open your ipod go to the address type /ipod_control after the alreasy address
go in there and unhide all files go to music and drag a song you'll have to rename it to a 4 ltters word

No, this solution does not work. The iPod have a special index called iTunesDB.

You have to use an application like CopyTrans Manager or iTunes to add songs to your iPod.

CopyTrans Manager really does the trick! Works flawlessly with my iPod Touch 2G running the new OS 3 Firmware.

Found a how-to here: http://use-iphone-with-itunes-alternative.blogspot.com/

The official website: http://www.copytrans.net/copytransmanager.php

There's also a comparison on wikipedia for compatibility: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_iPod_managers#Compatibility

You're dumb, you need a program that you can find online for free like yamipod and use it instead of itunes, itunes converts your files and puts them into a hidden folder on your ipod that you can't write to without specific permissions.
