Unable to install antivirus

Hello,
I, am not able to install antivirus, on my system windows xp, there is a virus not eliminated I reloaded the xp and inspite the problem persists. Even system restore does not set things right. The Shortcut does not respond and am unable to open the program. On relocating the program to another directory I could open the program.
Somebody suggest a remedy

First question.........What anti-virus are u tryin 2 install?
Second..........Download Mozilla Firefox and install.
When u took care of the 2, let me know.

Hi Rajesh ,
in my laptop one virus is there...which is not allowing me to install avast 4.8.... virus is creting double folder same name but exe.something...even dat virus not allowing me to install new XP with bootable cd...giving some partition prob and telling do scndsk...or remove virus..
Could you plz help me to sort out this one

In my laptop,due to virus my taskmanager,run,folder options,system registry all are disabled.And now i am not able to install antivirus.What should i do without formatting?

Sorry.................I was away 4 a while. Chances r u have a virus that's blocking your Anti-Virus in stall. Try this: Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware using a friend's PC. Once downloaded, change the Setup file name 2 anything u choose. B sure it's something simple u can remember. Now, transfer the file via flash drive or other movable media. Install on your PC, then run setup. If u can't update, don't worry. Just run a quick scan. Remove anything it finds....Reboot your PC. Now try running the update manager. When it updates, run a full system scan. Again, remove anything it finds. 4 future protection, download and install AVG Free Anti-Virus. It's free and it works a lot better than most Anti-Viruses. U can download the 2 at: www.download.com..........Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Hi, i tried ure solution by downloading malwarebytes anti-malware, and wen i had run the this anty virus its detecting de virus but not cleaning it its just giving no action taken, can u plz give me a solution 4 dat

Make a backup of all important file and format your PC : after that,

first thing install anti virus
then install Mozilla Firefox and update your anti virus hunter
