Look for Acer eRecovery Management in your Start menu or Control Panel.

Here's what your laptop manual says about recovery.

Note: If your computer did not come with a Recovery CD or
System CD, please use Acer eRecovery Management's "System
backup to optical disc" feature to burn a backup image to CD or
DVD. To ensure the best results when recovering your system
using a CD or Acer eRecovery Management, detach all peripherals

Hello when your computer is loading up press and hold 'f8' this should take you to a screen that says 'repair my computer' once there select that and it will take you another screen, there you want to choose the bottom option, it will be something like 'factory image'. Good luck.

I tried to use the recovery cd for my acer aspire 5315 and they did not load the operating system. so instead of trying to get it to load I loaded ubuntu linux and virtual box. linux recognized all the hardware and virtual box was loaded so that i could load a version of windows to allow me to use office. So at this point i have ubuntu linux as the main operating system and windows xp and windows 7 loaded as well and I don't have to use any dual boot functions. I can have all operating systems running at one time. I did max out the memory to 2gb and added a 500 gb hard drive.
