Hello,
I have windows xp, and juno. I can't send e-mails for job searches, mostly using Craigs. My reply is that the host
smtp can't be found. I know that this is an outgoing protocol, but can't find out how to change or find my host to fix the problem.
I have tried everything, to no avail. Others have tried also. I have no help thru Juno. I have Outlook Express, which I have tried to remove also. Can't do it!

Please help, the main problem I think is the host info I need to install. I need a job, and the computer is the way that most companys want replies.

Can you help? Thank you. Kathy

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

If JUNO can't give you support - you might try to set up a Gmail account.

It sounds as if you have no default email client set up in outlook express/Windows. Hence Windows doesn't know how to send the email - it doesn't have the address (via SMTP) of you mail server.

Downloading Gmail should fix this problem.

Here's Juno's settings for host info:
http://www.juno.com/support/email/email-setup.html

But you need to have a program to send that e-mail, like Thunderbird (free!) Outlook Express, or you could use a web account like gmail, yahoo, or msn. Windows is looking for a program for whenever you click on that e-mail link, not a web-based account. You could copy and paste into a web account, or use Outlook Express (using the Juno settings page above) and these instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/mailserver.mspx, or Download Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ and use http://www.tech-evangelist.com/2008/04/03/thunderbird-outgoing-email-problems-02/ (or use Google to find instructions).

hope that helps,

rrray
