Presario c700 sound driver is not instlling

Hello,
i have a compaq laptop series presario c700 and first time i installed window vista now formated window vista and i receantly installed windows XP and sound devices are not installing , but sound is important to me. so kindly tell me what to do and how to install sound driver..? and from where is free downloading site ,,,,so kindly request you to send suggetions please,,,,,,,,,

Hi
u cant instal sound driver directly because xp dont take drivers self. first u have to go to my copmuter right click on it go to properties then device manager & then update the driver.

HI,

To install the Conexant sound card, with XP SP2

First download and run the UAA driver ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe
Then download and run the sound card driver ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36090.exe

For Vista ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp40501-41000/sp40762.exe
Errare humanum est, perseverare diabolicum.

Even after installing the above said drivers, i am not able to get the sound...

Please give me the alternate solution.. and suggest me on how to take up this??
