audio driver problem

i have installed windows xp home edition on my laptop but before it was windows media centre edition and now the sound isnt working as it says there is now audio device can anyone help me
Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.11

i tried to uninstall some programs i no longer need from my computer and mistakenly uninstall the audio device on my computer. now i cannot hear anything from the computer. there isn't an equalizer or anything else on the computer

ok ive been having this problem too
i cant get any sound out of the computer other than a beeping noise
i have an Compaq Evo D510 USDT
and my sound driver has been deleted or something
can anyone give me a website or something to were i can download it again if i can

Hey,
please could someone help me out.....i have formatted my system and installed xp professional.
if i try to play music the player gives me an error message saying-
"there may not be a sound device installed on your computer."

Computer- Acer ASpire 5310,
series Model JDW50.
Intel Celeron M Processor 530
512 MB DDR2


What information about my system would be need in order to help me out.
Thnx in advance!!...highly appreciate anyone's help.
