The best way is to borrow a copy of the Windows XP disk from a friend. Most illegal downloads come full of virus files.
Please note that some serial numbers only work with an OEM version of the Windows install CD and not a Retail version. Most PC repair shops will have a OEM CD that they can use to reinstall Windows. So you might need to pay them to do the install.
