I cant download itunes using windows 7

I cannot download itunes from apple of any other website. It freezes as it gets towards the end of the download. One suggestion was to download the 64-bit version but again, the same thing happens. What can I do to get itunes on my new laptop? I cant use my shuffle until I have this.
