Protocol 48??

Hello,
i have a hugee prob on counter strike 1.6 ...can any1 help me?? since protocol 48 has come i cant play counter strike online cause whenever i try to connect it shows sumfin like this "This Server is using a newer version(48) then ur version(47). Please check for updates on ur server"......What the hell am i supposed to do???PLease help mmeee

Well you all r fool even i was a bit earlier when i saw this problem i made my own server and then played cs there in favourites i wrote my own ip that server was there when i clicked that this same error occured the error is that you dont have steam non steam isnt good even i dont like steam you can download garena thats good just write garena on google and download it

Hey i can help u engman . first of all u have to go to and download SWDS patcher.then after downloading open the file then extract the files to directory other then ur server directory then after extracting the files copy them to ur servers root directory. after copying files then go to ur cs servers directory cstrike folder then find server.cfg and open it by notepad(right openwith notepad) and copy these lines before exec listban.bla bla
setmaster add 69.28.151.162
setmaster add 72.165.61.189
setmaster add 207.173.177.11
setmaster add 68.142.72.250
setmaster add hlmaster.jolt.co.uk

The root directory of cs is the place where u have installed ur cs server.eg
C:\Program Files\counter strike 1.6

Hi..
i hava protocol 48 but when i play on garena (garena fire) many server will shown but when i start the game it could not enter the server though tthe erver is not full. only the main menu of cs will display...

You can't update from protocol 47 to 48 i have cs original and my steam updated my cs to 48 i cant play on serv with protocol 47 ..and many serv with protocol 48 uses cs original......it's like u have cs 1.6 that has protocol 47 and u want to connect o cs 1.5 serv( has protocol 46)......PS: valve will obligate us to buy cs :P

I got protocol version 48, it when i try to connect is says that "This server is using older protocol version (47) than your protocol (48)" Something like that.... and i cant fix it... when i try to connect to any server is says that :O

Yeah, My own server didn't upgrade to protocol(48) so it kinda sux when i can't play on my own server AND I don't know how to update it to (48) since it's (47) and the so called HDLS folder doesn't take the commands that are written in the folder...

Hey Guys, i Know ur Problem. I think the people who gettin' the " new 48 Protocol" just have to update, but the 47 protocol error is just at people who using non steam or pacsteam, whatever. u should buy cs , its just an error to gettin the non steamers fucked up :]
so im still fucked up about it, but well i thought a long time about buying cs and i did it today, now it works :]
and vac arent buggin me down.
so have fun, its just ur opinion.
Who dont get the autoupdate at original version > Check the support and open a ticket :]

Fucking hell i buyd half life blue shift 8 years ago and now i get the same error..

Im using protocol 48 and all the servers are using 47...

FUCK STEAM I HAVE A LEGAL PACKAGE OF HALF LIFE 4cd's, blue, green, yellow and a orange cd.

And ive got 2 legal codes.. why this problem is not solved yet? fuck steam!
