Hello,

I installed Office 2008 for Mac.

I needed to uninistall it and re-install under a different product key.

The computer remembers the key and I need to know how to change it.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.3

To remove Office licence you only have to remove two files

delete ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
Delete /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist

Go to your Spotlight search bar and type in "Terminal"

Once that opens copy the following text and paste it into the terminal and press enter:

rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist ; rm -rf /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist

That will delete both files and when you relaunch any of the office programs, it will ask you to enter a new registration key.

USE THIS INSTEAD OF THE PREVIOUS COMMAND
Sorry, the command syntax was wrong. Here is the edited command. Copy it and paste it into your terminal and hit enter instead of the code above.

rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office\ 2008/Microsoft\ Office\ 2008\ Settings.plist ; rm-rf /Applications/Microsoft\ Office\ 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
