Here are the steps for reading your GMAIL in another email program.
*use these same steps for MS Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Eudora or Mozilla THunderbird.
1) click the "stettings" link @ the top of any gmail page
2) when the settings page appears, select the "Forwarding and POP" tab
3) In the bottom half of this page, check the box for "Enable POP for all Mail"
4) There is a drop-down option. Pull down the menu tab "When Messages are Accessed with POP" and select the option that is best for you.
5) Click "save changes" button @ the bottom of the page
6) Open your POP email program and create a new account. (In Outlook 2007: click the "Tools" tab and select "Account Settings" and follow the instructions).
*When prompted, enter pop.gmail.com as the incoming mail server, and smtp.gmail.com as the outgoing mail server.
Hope this helps. I use MS Outlook 2007, so I dont have any other helpful info for the other programs. When setting up the account I tried to manually setup the account to enter the incoming and outgoing mail server info correctly and it wasn't syncing...but when I just entered in my email address and password and let outlook automatically log in it worked fine and pulled in all my mail. ???
Good Luck
*BTW I found this info in a book I bought from Barnes and Noble entitled GOOGLEpedia. It was $34.99, but it is a 800 page encyclopedia on everything A-Z goggle has to offer...if you like google and want to maximize your web experience I highly reccomend picking up this book, it is a big help for some of the more complex apllications and setting such as syncing your email...very informative as well on applications I had no idea that were useful.
Make it a great day.
