No sound for my dvds

Hello, I downloaded the windows media player 11, I can play cds and get sound but with dvd, I only see the picture but can hear no sound?? Please help me?

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

MP11 does not support DVD's native, Install VLC or Divx this will install all the needed codecs and then MP should play the sound part of your dvd's
