Hello,

Hotmail account

I have moved to a block of flat. In the flat i am using D-link DSL 500 router. I cannot access my hotmail account. Every time I try, it starts looking for connection. The message I get says connection interrupted. What I cannot understand is when I go to my daughter¢ï¿½ï¿½s flat it works perfectly well. I have cleared history and cookies, I have used Firefox, I have tried to add the web site to my list by going to internet option / security/trusted site by each time it gives me the message sites added to this Zone must use the https:// prefix. This prefix assures a secure connection. I use Vista
I have even tried typing https but no luck. Please help!
Helen

Hello helen,

i do think that the problem is coming from the router. have you tried using another one and see what happens?
another thing is that have you tried to ping a network address?

if the pinging is successful then it must be working fine. to try to ping a network address just open the command prompt and type in in the command :

say : ping en.kioskea.net

if it gives you successful result then you must have an IT technician have a look at your pc.

hope it helps you helen

Hi Zoe

Thanks for your reply. Also I tried adding the hotmail as a trusted site under internet option security. it says that http url not accepted and it has to be https. is there anyway that i can convert my hotmail to https.
