Wireless router security

Hello,
hi ]i have linksys WAG200G ROUTER, it was working properly untill last friday it stoped working i asked my pal to help now i can connect to the internet but my wireless network is unsecure when i click on wireless security and make it enable to wpa or wep my wireless network disconnects saying that the changes saved on this pc do not match with that of the wireless newtwork
can any one help

You need to 1st change the security settings on the router. To do that you must be connected by a wire from a PC to the router. See your router instructions for IP address and account name, default password (or use the ones you set up).

Then you set the security settings on the laptop to match those on the router.
