Hey there,

just try to setup you account settings once again and also just send a test mail. and if its still not working then i would recommend that you uninstall outlook and then reinstalling it.

I have the same problem. I did find out that it is linked to the profile. I haven't deleted my profile yet because I haven't backed it up. However, other users on the same computer can send just fine. If you can, delete your windows profile and try it again. A re-install does not solve the problem because there is still profile information that isn't deleted when Outlook 2007 is uninstalled. Let me know if this helps and I am going to see if there is another solution so I don't have to delete my profile.

I am not clear on what you mean by "profile." The only profile I know about is the account profile used in setting up Windows accounts. I would not imagine that is what you are referring to.

Can you tell me what profile you are referring to and how you go about working with it (backing up, deleting, replacing).

Thanks.

Zack,

Yes, I am talking about windows profiles. Try running Outlook under a different profile and see if it works. If it works under a different profile then profile corruption is the problem on the windows account where Outlook doesn't work. That is problem that I am having. Biggest thing to back up in a profile is the my documents folder and IE favorites. You might have somethings on the desktop that need to be backed up too. You can copy the whole profile by going to the "Users" folder under the C drive (in windows vista) and finding your user name and copying that folder. You can also delete and backup from the advanced tab under system properties. If it is a profile problem, delete it, recreate it and try Outlook again.

Thanks. I think I would only try that if I get really desparate as such a major step scares me. I have a huge amount of information at risk with that. The My Documents folder is enormous.

To restore the profile, I am not sure how I would restore the My Documents folder. I am using Windows XP Pro. I would also risk loosing all my emails, for example? I have over 2GB of emails that I cannot afford to loose.

I know that if I knew more, I could do that, but not knowing where a lot of stuff goes makes it difficult.

Thanks,

Zach

I have solved the problem with the help of Microsoft Support. It was caused by an add-in. Further Google search on this add-in indicates the problem is widespread. The add-in is pdfmoutlook. That needs to be de-activated in Outlook.

The way to do that is to go to
Tools>Trust Center>Add-ins. At the bottom of the box there is a small drop down box. There are two applicable choices: COM and Exchange Client. I don't recall which of these is the one to choose, you will have to try one then another to find the offending add-in. Disable it. Restart Outlook, and for me that did the job.

Outlook, I have a problem with messages hanging up. Shows sending but what really happens is multiples are going out to all recepients. Can't delete the message as it is 'sending'. try ot move it and the sending drop down starts flashing and you can't exit unless you go to the task manager. I did a search for the file pdfmoutlook and it does not show on my computer.
The problem is the same on my Vista machine, this one is XP pro.

I had this problem also. This was the fix,

Go to Tools>Trust Center

Click Add-ins>Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging>Go

Uncheck any add-ins you do not need. For my profile, it was a message classification banner that needed to be unchecked.

Restart Outlook>Test Send

Done

Case-tocase basis. In my case, I came across that I cannot send/received email—Msoutlook 2007; it works the following:

1. Disable the Proxy: Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, connection tab, LAN settings, and UNCHECK Proxy Server.

2. Change DNS Address: Right Click, My Network Places icon on your desktop, Click Properties, Right Click Local Area Connection, click properties, under General Tab Double Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then down, under use the following DNS server address, change it, but you have to obtain them from your IT/Administrator

It works for me.
