Pendrive showing disk in drive is not formatt

Hello,
i have a 4GB transend pen drive all of suddenly it is
showing the disk in drive is not formatted.


how to solve this problem.


please help me in this.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.3

Dear Sir,
Please I want you to help me how to format my pen drive. My drive is telling me that disk need to be formatted but if I format it, it's still telling me the window can not format the drive

I can't open my 4gb moserbear pendrive and important software its inside sir please help me what i do.
i am use manage option into my computer and change the drive than its showing access is denied.

You can use a good anti virus itmeans at presetnt avira antivir it is better than all other anti viruses frist ur system fully svcanned and then ur pen drive inserted to ur usb port then scan and format it now guarentee the pen drive is formatted ok bye

First u have to unmount your pendrive using dos cmd chkdsk /f
and format it

Hi Joe,
Use a good anti virus which is up to date. The issue which u were facing is due to virus on your local machine. use anti virus virus like bitdefender total security, kaspersky to scan your machines. keep in mind that your virus scanner is up to date. scan all the areas of your machine the finally plug your thumb drive and scan it too. After clearing all the virus, thread, warm, syware in your machine. then you can easily format your pen drive. And you can also see the disks pace is full free of total size.

Try opening pen drive on linux machine. You can recover all your data.

I too faced this problem in couple of machines. As I scanned with antivirus it shows there is no virus. Then I found out there is some other issue.

Resolving Steps:
Note: After enabling show system files and hidden files in windows XP Machine. You can see two files named �Autorun.inf� and �Soundman.exe�

Go to start Run type CMD
On the command prompt go to C:\
Type Attrib �a �s �h
Type dir now you can see those files �autorun.inf� and �Soundman.exe�
Now go to my computer and double click c:\
Delete those two files
Same way use the Attrib command for all local drives available in the machine.
And explore the appropriate attrib command executed drives and delete those two files.

Don�t try to delete those files through Command Prompt. It will re generate and execute in fraction of seconds

Now insert the pen drive. Don�t try to access the content because a couple of folders with named music and my music will be seen hidden these r the issue causing files. Simply format the pen drive and start using it.

You removable stick can be formatted by formattin it in the dos mod or just go to the my computer icon and right click on the option manage and then clic on the drive manager there you pen drive will be displayed then just debuf or check for bad sectors and clear the bad sector then try to format your memory stick will be formatted ............................................................­....
