Hello,

I installed the game , Call of Duty 1 , and i want to start it , i get black screen and than the
game stops, he gives a error : 23 sound files are missing or in a bad format ...

Coud someone help me please , and i know my English sucks ...Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.3

Hey,

As for your problem its a corrupted install plain and simple. Remove everything and install it. If you are using a backed-up iso i suggest you whip out the orginal CDs and use those.

Hi all

Please someone help me... I was tryng to play call of duty multiplayer, but when i press refresh it says waiting for master server for responces... i know that i wont be for a long time but im waiting for 3 weaks and thats kind of weird ! pls if u know how to fix this tell me.

lol, yeh then you just dont know what to d owith the downloaded game nothing wrong with that but i suggest you buy a cod 1 cd, those things are like 5 $ and almost garuanty you good quality without errors

ow damm , i sayd something wrong but i mean that i've got the real game and the downloaded game and excecly the same error's and i've done everything with my computer , defragmentatie ( dont know how to spell in english ) if there are netherlands people here pls answer :P english is too good but also i dont know what to dow now :(

where did you download it? i lost my disk 1 cd for CoD 1 and i cant find it.. i have been looking for a downloadable version but cannot find 1.

Well so far peopel sayign reinstall it are wrong has nothing to do with the game this used to happen to me when my sound driver wasnt instlled on my computer if your sound driver is installed already you shouldnt be having these problems so make sure its installed and if problem presists reinstall your sound driver or find a new driver

IVE INSTALLED THE GAME PROPERLY BUT IT DOES NOT WORK ONLINE IVE GOT THE NET BUT NO SEVERS COME UP CAN SOMONE HELP ME......?

I too had this same problem but the first thing I tried didnt work. Try reinstalling it and if that doesnt work then try to send it back and get a different copy.

Hi there,

I got a simular problem.
After a couple of years I decided I wanted to play COD again and installed it on my computer ( running on Vista )
But when I want to start either COD 1 or COD UO I get an error stating 905 files are missing or in a bad format !

Already reinstalled it many times but with the same result. It's an original CD by the way

Anybody knows how to fix ??

Simple... If your having problems with multiplayer/singleplayer right click on the desktop icon and choose find target, or whatever vista has that shows ALL the files of the game. But you have to right click. Find a file called servercache and delete that, it will come back when you restart the game. Then it should work

all you have to do is install it, right click the shortcut and run it for xp compatibility mode and it wont say your missing the audio files (i have vista)

Joe, how do I run it in XP mode ? I have visto to but when I right click on the shortcut I do not see something like "XP Mode" ?

just right click the shortcut, go to properties, go to the compatibility tab, check "run the program in compatibility mode for:", and click the drop down thing and select windows XP (service pack 2) and click ok, and it should work, and if that doesn't work for you you can try running it with something older like windows me or something and if none of that works i have no clue

I downloaded call of duty 1 the whole game, when i click on setup it install's half of the game and then asks for cd 2 i click ok but the message is still ther. i looked on the forum wer i downloaded it from and everyone else says it works and no one answers my questions. please can someone help

I watch this problem on many forums, but no where is real solution.
In fact, you can try to instal to C: or to Z: drive, you can to install to program files or other directory, to program files/COD but that doesn't help at all. I tryed path Z:\COD\COD at last, but all no way. I tried 4 instalations and this has no logic, 2 years earlier I played it on PC with XP. I think only problem could be somewhere else... Maybe problem in communication of XP system.

mine worked once but i was at a friends house playing single player and had to close my lap top in the middle of my game. Now when i try to play multi-player it says that there is a problem that has occurred and will tell me when they can resolve the problem. What do i do now??
