Cod4 crashes when trying load server list

Hello,been playing cod 4 for a while and came back and all of a sudden i cant play...i get thw iw3mp.exe - application error...but it then goes on to say that the memory could not be written

this has really confused me,

any help would be very much apperciated as i have reinstalled it twice and re-downloaded the 1.7 patch

Try installing Direct X 10?

I also have a problem..

I start Cod 4 PERFECTLY fine

when i press Join Game

It decides to crash?

I get the same problem as said above.
i click join game and game crashes, and i just reinstalled the game too.

how do i fix this.?
