Access another pc within LAN

Hello,
I want o access another PC by sitting my desk which is connected with LAN with mine. please tell me that how can I do that?

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.14

YOU CAN DO THAT BY USING REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION
YOU CAN ENTER IT BY ENTER TO ALL PROGRAMS---- ACCESSORIES----- REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION
THEN YOU MUST ENTER THE IP OR(COMPUTER NAME) OF THE DESKTOP YOU WANT TO ACCESS OK
THEN ENTER THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD OF THE DESKTOP YOU WANT TO ACCESS. THEN PRESS ENTER

How i can access to another computer using any software (without any registration and shuold be permanent) and i can access to others drives in lan.
