EA manager has stopped working?

Hi, ok i am very confused. when I first got the the sims3 it worked with no problems on my laptop. Now all of a sudden it keeps telling me that EA download mager has stopped working and I have no idea what that means. I can still play sims 2 on it, so ea manager does work, just not for the sims 3. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried uninstalling and installing it again.nothing happened. HELP!
