Hello,

My manager has a problem running Outlook 2007. This is the problem, copied from her email to me:

"Specifically, I go to open Outlook, and it takes a looo-o-o-ng time to open. When it finally does, it downloads the e-mails that have come in since I last closed the program, but I can't click on any of the e-mails and get the message to come up. Sometimes I'm able to right click on one of the messages and read it that way, but after I answer the e-mail my Outlook freezes and I can't even shut it down properly.

When I shut the computer down and restart it, it doesn't usually help.
However, sometimes it just seems to magically fix itself, and everything's fine for a while .... until it's not."

She only has one email profile and we're working with Vista. I'll really appreciate some help as this is slowing down office productivity! Thanks!

Configuration: Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 7.0

I have had the same problem.

Mine also frequently says app.crash and then Outlook takes forever to check the problem or "check files that did not close properly".
I ran an anti virus program which helped clean it up for a while.
However I have been told that VISTA is the problem. I would love to have my old XP back.
Closing personal folders individually before closing outlook helps especially if they have a lot of sub folders.

Let outlook open by itself even with the delayed messges, sometimes killing it off just causes more problems.
It has to cycle through its correction program.
