Hello,

i cannot look at videos on YouTube. It gives me the message:
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

Current Conditions:
1.) I updated Adobe Flash Player.
2.) I use IE 7.0 and set the Tools/internet options/security/scripting/(enabled)
3.) I use Trend Micro Internet Security (installed in Sept 2008)

Now what can i do to "turn scripting on"?
David

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Your Trend Micro Internet Security software has stopped JAVA Scripts from running. See if it has an option to allow specific sites access to JAVA or to bypass security for YouTube.

Fix this YouTube error by uninstalling flash player then open your browser
and the first site will ask for installing the flash again, install it and that's all.
you're done.

Hi

Quite often this problem can be caused by security software, I had the same problem for about a year and I had tried all the answers on the forums. I made sure I had Javascript switched on & also I had the full version + updated Macromedia Flash Player still I could not play videos on YouTube

I solved this by switching my Ad Blocker to Off (I had Norton Anti-Virus) but even if you have another anti-virus program installed, try switching your Ad Blocker to off then re-opening your browser. As soon as I did this it was resolved immediately!!

Hope this is of some help to you
