Diskette drive seek failure (error message)

Hello,
when i plug my digital camera or my itouch into the usb port, my computer shuts down and reboots constantly. While rebooting it displays the message :diskette drive seek failure"......can anyone help me with this problem? I can follow directions if its not too technical:)

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0
