Hello,

Hp dv6000 WITH VISTA doesn´t recognize an EXTERNAL DVD RECORDER.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE.

Did the laptop come with Vista installed? If not you need to download Vista drivers from HP. It sounds like your USB ports are not working. you check the USB controller via the following select CONTROL PANEL in START menu - select ADDITIONAL OPTIONS - HARDWARE AND SOUND - DEVICE MANAGER - VIEW HARDWARE AND DEVICES

If you see an question mark next to and of the USB controllers you have identified the problem.

In any case you should see about updating your drivers.

Computer came with Vista installed.

None signs beside USB.
