Unable to start windows in safe mode

Hi,
im unable to start windows even in safe mode. Computer shuts itself down before completing start up and continues in this cycle without completely starting up. a message appears very briefly just proir to shut down that says it is shutting down to protect itself. It also says to check for adequate memory or bios updates .

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.1

Well,
It goes without saying that this is a pretty serious problem. You could try the "Last known good configuration" from the list of options you get when you press F8 on startup. If that fails maybe you could try the Safe Mode with command prompt option and run System Restore from the command line. But I think you might be better off getting a professional to take a look.

Hey even i was facing same problem. My pc was restarting before it loads all startup programs.. i killed explorer.exe from taskmanager soon after it starts and then it remains .. thereafter on running explorer from taskmanager itself helped me..
i guess some virus ws stopping my antivirus program to run at startup and so it was restarting again and again..
after killing explorer.exe from taskmanager i runned antivirus from taskmanager itsellf and it helped me.. hope it will help u too!
