Wipeing Clean Acer Aspire One

Hello,
I am selling my Acer Aspire One and want to wipe it clean. Is this when I would use the Acer eRecovery Management tool and follow the directions to make backup disk and all the steps that follow?

If so, would this then reinstall Windows XP home, etc. and new owner could then install whatever programs they want?

Hello. When I try to run the erecovery management program, the only option it allows is to restore, there is no option to backup. What's the best way to backup system before restore to factory default? Thanks
