Hello,
i have a 32 gb sony vaio pen drive . Now when i try to copy anything it asks for formatting and when i try to format it the format action is not completed . Ithink the driver of that pen drive has got deleted and the pen drive is non functional at all . Where can i get the driver so that the pen drive can become functional .

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello dude,

for pen drive its useless to have driver as it is connected through usb and windows autamatically get the driver for it so im thinking about the pen which may be damaged and if its new have it returned from where you bought it

See boss u r not understand the problem first when ever we are copy the data in to the pen drive, it shows BUt it is corripted...? so please tellme rectifi my problem.

Use this exe to format ur pen drive but never copy more than 2 GB data.

The reason that you can not put any more than 2GB on the Pen Drive is that the Pen Drive is a 2GB Drive with clever Firmware on it to register 32GB, you will NEVER get more than 2GB on the Drive. I fell into this trap recently when I purchased 20 Sony 64GB Micro Vault Flash Drives which turned out to be 4GB FAKE Drives.

Ur pendrive is afake..its been flashed with software which shows windows n macs as 64gb or in some cases as 32 gb...when actually its only...512mb,1gb or maybe 2 gb...so if u exceeed the actually capacity the files get corrupted...
i had bought 2 from e bay...filed for refund...

It's a fraud, Please do not buy 32GB Kingston USB 2.0 Flash Drive.
its only up to 16 GB available with Kingston.
Before buying check for Serial no.

Hello friends,

i hv a 32 GB kingston flash drive, it can copy any type of data but whenever i copy from pen drive into my pc, it shows multiple empty folders in the same folder n audio-video files got currupted, softwares too. It shows changed name of the forlder in symbols like +-+-+-+-+-+-... Can anyone solve my problem plzzzz...

Hey As already mentioned earlier, this pen drive is fake. Never buy any 32GB Kingston pen drive. It looks like original but its fake. I have seen many such drives. So just save only 512MB of data in it. It will not corrupt.

Guys don get kingston pendrives frm local dealers all r fake... even my uncle s a dealers he sells all fake kingston pendrive.. its worth of 300 rs..don buy them..

Hey Solmind,

It seems u have got virus in ur pendrive. It maybe the act of Virus that you are seeing so many folders n sub-folders in it. Try scanning it with some good AntiVirus or format it n chek.

Ur pendrive fake...actually 512mb,1gb or 2 gb...been flashed with software to show as 32gb...when u store more than actual capacity it will get corupted

I am also using 32gb kingston flash drive these problems are same to me... But my friend has give pen drive recovery software. I used that software my pendrive problems are all solved... try u r pendrive also friend reply me..... try it...

Janu,
I Had The Same Problem With A Sony 64gb.
Tried To Format It In Windows XP And Partition Magic 8, No Luck.!!
It Came Up Corrupt Drive With Sguare Blocks And Weird Signs Like It May Have Been Chinese And Could Not Read It In English.
Used 7 Tools - Partition Manager 2005 And That Formated It And It Works Now. :)))

Hi,

I have got 32GB pen drive, the answer of your Questions is whenever you format this pendrive, the file system will be NTFS and the Allocation unit size be 32kilobytes or 64kilobytes. then only your drive will be formated well. and can store your full data. If it doesn't work revert back.

I too tried with partition manager 9.0 to format but there is no option of formatting the pen drive. It doesn't show the pen drive for formatting. When I tried to create partition Iam am to create partition but not able to apply the changes. Please help me out to sort this problem. I got 32gb Kingston Pendrive

Format It As Fat 32, Not NTFS.....
You Will Not Have Problems Reading It With 98,ME,2000,XP,or Vista

Firstly .. detected in system and gave some... folders which are of Chinese and Japanese fonts...


Later It is not detected and is giving error as.. USB device not Detected..as yellow..message..

You can reuse you this stick by formatting it with command prompt..i have successfuly repaired my 32gb fake kingston stick using command prompt

even i am facing the same problem,,,,most of the folders are emptied automatically.Most of the images gives error message n some folders r corrupted.
Please let me know how come you fix this problem

Hey guys I also got this problem but my flash drive is a 8gb kingston drive

I can copy any types of files when I Move to another pc all my files that I've just copied were all empty but the folders are still there ??

I formatted my Kngston 8GB usb pen drive using FAT32 in regular windows xp, when it finished i copied back some movie files around 7GBs, it copied all , then when I attempt to use / read them got F:\ not a valid application, please tell me the command use to save the drive

This is the correct answer to your question.
Your "32 GIG" drive is a fake from China. It is a 2 GB drive with the firmware altered to show 32 GB in properties. I bet it did not show FAT32 or NTFS in the formatting window, this option was blank. am I correct?
YOU BOUGHT A FAKE DRIVE FROM SHANGHAI CHINA THAT CAN NEVER BE FORMATTED!!!!
They also label this drives "120 GB" capacity.

Dude in mumbai there is a place where you get original 64 gb pendrives for 2000 bucks
i bought 25 of them and sold them on ebay for 4000 each which is also a good deal
i kept two of them myself and i have no problems nor do those who i sold it to have some probs

U guys should understand, how come same size of flash would be able to hold 16 or 8 times more data
than a 2 or 4 GB drive, since both drives has same physical size.

I bought a harddisk in 1988 which could hold only hold a few megabites of data. how come a harddisk today can hold so much more data.

just the fact that it has the same size doesn't mean all that much.
