Beep sound when starts

Hello,
im just trying to upgrade my ram. i have an existing 512mb ram and now im trying to put a 1gb ram next to it but when i plug it into the socket and start up the computer all i get is a series of beep.
can anyone help me please?

Configuration: Windows Vista

Hi is your ram an sd type card if so then have you purchased the right type of card because there is sd 100 and sd 133 take you existing ram out at compare then

Dear Sir,
I have a new HCL computer since last 4 month ago, but at the present time not show any display on the monitor. When I want to start my computer, after 1 Minute a long beep start and after one mitute beep end. After one minute beep start again. after second beep not again beep computer.

Please give me information for this promlems.

Hiii dear firstly check that your ram is ok...
coz your problem has been occured when your ram or ram port is not ok so avoid turn on ur pc till the solution of this problem ...
