Hello,
I just bought a used hp laptop with xp and i cannot get the internet to connect. When i hook up the cable to my cable interenet modem it says it sees a connection but then says limited or no connectivity and when i try to get on internet explorer it comes up with an error saying it cannot find it. It has wifi but we dont have wireless here so i cant check that but it was working fine when the guy showed me. My interenet on my desktop is working fine. any suggestions? I can take this back if it is a major problem but i only have a short time. I am hoping someone can help me. Thanks in advance!

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello friend,
this problem is create by your modem, so first of all reinstall your modem driver or change your modem . If the problem is same then go to cmd and give the command Ipconfig /release and Ipconfig/renew and then check the ipaddress.

I am trying to connect a second laptop (windows xp) to a wireless connection (verizon broadband). However, nothing works, I keep getting the message "the server is not available....." or have to reconfigure.
what does that mean? And how to I go about connecting the second laptop?
Thank you
Charlie

Go on wireless connectivity on control panel and it will show you all the possible wireless connections you can get to. pick one and right-click on it and you will see the word repair, then click on it and the computer will repair the connection and it will have full connectivity
