Hello, I have a similar problem to ones described in the forum. I recently bought a used laptop and when I double click an item I am unable to open it. I get a small window with the option to open or another option. I am able to open the application by using the open option but then my touch pad keys stop working. I can get them to work again by using ctrl-alt-delete and clicking twice to close task manager. Can anyone help?

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.16

Hello Bachnotes, Thanks for the input. When I start my laptop I am unable to open anything by double clicking it. I get a dialog box ( as though I right clicked it). I can then click on open and the item will open. The mouse works but the touckpad keys do not work. I can open task manager using ctrl-alt-del, I then have to click twice to close it and thongs work for a while. For example if I open control panel and try to click on folder options I get a dialog box that says open, run as..., and create shortcut. Any help will be most appreciated.
