Prog to show cache enhance system performance

Hello,

can aneone here tell me how to write a programme to show dat CACHE enhance system performance...

i have some ideas as to how to do it......

make a file dat can be used as d memory
a link list dat can be used as d cache....

make dem work together somehow..to show dat cache improves system performance....

so wat i basically need is..someone to help me write such a programme.....
