Sound/video problems on laptop

Hi everyone!

I got a cool new Prima 17" TV that I'm attempting to hook my laptop up to for movie-watching.

My laptop is an old IBM ThinkPad. I've got the S-Video to work from laptop-TV, but I can't seem to get the audio to come out of the TV.

I'm using a 3.5mm to dual RCA cable. The RCA is on the TV's "audio in", and the 3.5mm is in the laptop's headphone jack.

But… no sound. I've tried all the different input modes on the TV. Still not working…

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi JohnsonD !!

Don't be ashamed of IBM because i have an IBM laptop too and do you know that IBM is the most solid brand in laptop's range? Okay, if your laptop is actually very old, just verify if there's nothing wrong with the laptop itself!

Hi every one i have an IBM thinkpad laptop, it had a it's own orignal xp installed but i removed that coz of some problems and i installed a new xp and now my vga is not installed and i don't know what is it's name and model to buy or get from internet .....

if any one can help me i will be appreciated from ..

I have a Toshiba also. I got these wires from Bestbuy, and one goes in your Headphone jack, and the other two go into your TV. Red and white things. I would like to know how to get the picture. Tried a lot of things.

The 'red and white thingy' (rca jack) to headphone jack will only give you the audio of the laptop. You must connect either a s-video cord or HDMI plug, computer cord, etc (depending which video outs are available on your laptop) from your laptop to the television also. Let me know if you have any further questions.

IN ONE HP520 NOTEBOOK, DURING INSTALLATION SOUND DRIVER IT SHOWS

Iam having that same problem but i cleared that problem some times by luck did u find any thing to solve that problem.But i know something first install sp99&sp89 then install the audio conxe

Btw..they make 2 diff 3.5mm connectors for that...look and see what you have...cause one has 1 rings on the end and the other has 2 rings where it attaches to the laptop...hope you know what I am trying to show you...one has for 2 wires where the other has 3 wires...like with a mic...

Niceday, please i was looking for sound driver for my Laptop that I have just recover after having some virus infection, after using recovery i understand that my sound was no longer working. so have try to download sound driver but till this moment have not succeed in getting one. so can you help me get one.

Hello Henry,

I was woondering if you solved your Toshiba laptop sound problems and if so- How?
My wife has a Saterlite laptop and when we changed the systm from Vista to XP Pro the sound is so low that we can hardly hear it- It has a built inb webcam that we'd like to use but when we try talking into it and play bac a test's so so low that it''s useless- any ideas?
