Laptop to laptop router

Hello, new here.

I had a HP laptop at home conected to the internet, with 3 teen agers, my wife and I can not use the laptop due homework, mySpace etc. We bought a second laptop for our room, I need to connect a linksys 2.4GHz wireless-B that I had. My question is can the router work from laptop to laptop, do I need to upload a anything?, I do not have any software for the router, and where I put the router in the high speed modem or directly to the computer....sorry I do not know much about computers but I enjoy using them
