Usb cable from phone to pc

Hello,
I bought a cable on ebay just to transfer music to my nokia 2630, and to transfer photos from my phone to my pc, but its not working.

I thought I could just plug the cable to both the pc and the phone and transfer anything. Nothing is working but I am being sent to another site to buy software. Any suggestions ? thanks, noel.Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.5.5
