Product key for microsoft office foe mac

Hello,
I am installing microsoft office 2008 for mac home and office. Shouldn't it ask for the product key before it starts downloading. It installs without asking for it and then the programs won't work.

If you have installed a trial version of Office before installing the full version it wont ask for a product key and won't install properly therefore it wont work :)
Mac has a tutorial for un-installing and re-installing the program
