Internet connection not working

Hello,

When I log onto my Dell Laptop, a msg comes up that says
"windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device"
when I click locate and install it says "windows couldnt find driver software for your device" and to contact the manufacturer of the device

I dont know what this means.

But it has stopped my internet from working.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this so I can get back online??!
