Data recovery

Hello,

i have a sata hard disk, it was working as a slave. From two days before it is not detecting. i tried to make it master then i tried to make it slave. i tried many possibilities. but it is not detecting.
but i have a lot of data in that hard disk. how we can recover the datas from that hard disk?
please reply me.
i tried it in different OS also. Still the same problem.
Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.16
