Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6618ca laptop that runs with Windows Vista and it will not start up. When I press the power button, it will take me to a screen with the options for safe modes and starting Windows normally. Either option I choose takes me to a black screen with only an arrow pointer that I can move around but can't click on anything with. I ran a hard drive test which passed and I can't do a system restore because it's telling me I have no restore points. I have no back-up disks so I hestitate to do a System Recovery because I know I'll lose everything. Is there any other way to fix this?
