i have a toshiba A135-2266 running vista home basic. IT CAME WITH 533MHZ MEMORY INSLALLED,UPGRADABLE TO 2G.While on e-bay searching for memory upgrade my laptop froze and wouldn't do anything,even power botten wouldn't do anything,i had to unplug and remove battery to get it to power off. that was last time my computer worked. i planed on up grading memory then reformating hard drive because the OS wasn't installed properly from factory but befor i could do this i had this problem. I installed battery,pluged in power,hit power botten, the power lite,battery lite,all that works when i power up computer,the lite on the cdrom drive lites for a second then back off,anything i plug into usb ports lites for a sec. then off.i hear fan running, all the lites that should work when powered up all work,the problem is nothing comes on screen nor does anything show up when i plug an external monitor. i called toshiba and they had me to turn it off remove battery then press a couple keys,i forget which ones, then install battery plug power then power up,still the same thing happened just like is was and no screen. i took the computer apart to look for a fuze,wasn't any that i found and also looked for anything obvious like overheating,everything looks fine,no pinched wires either.i forgot to mention that at time problem started,i had just pluged my cell ph,motorola razr v3 into a usb port to transfer some things from the ph. i've done this many times so surely this had nothin to do with what happened,the cell ph still works fine, I sure hope someone can tell me what to do to get my laptop working without taken it to repair shop like toshiba sugested,as i'm sure repair shop bill would be about what a new one would cost. i've seen several priced between $3-$500 lately with 4G memory and 320 G hard drive so there is no way i'm putting this in shop,can't afford it anyway.Please help me,thank you for your time,i no this was lengthly but wanted to cover everything i could think of that might help solve problem
