Cannot hear sound from pc

Hello,

Why can't i hear sound from my pc pls teach how i can hear it.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Plz check whether u hv installed sound driver or not. if u hv installed it thn right click on MY COMPUTER>device manager and right click on sound driver and enable it.

When i started my pc it gave error"system32 file is missing or corrupted" then i reinstaled windows. now i hv two options during startup"microsoft windows explorer" one of them is running with lot of errors n second one has the same error as i explained above. n whn i try to access my private folder it says"access is denied". plz help me out. by the way someone has mailed me some lines to write in recovery console but i idn knw how to write it.
