Reformatting comp

Hello,
iam tryingto reformat my comp, i booted from disc. it came up with windows setup and 3 options repair, xit without repair and another option but not sure wat it was, well i hit repair option and let it go . it checked files then went onto installing xp. that took bout 37 minutes now it is on the microsoft logo window and ahs been for 2 hours. i am unsure wat to do now at no time did i see any option for partitioning .
i have a hp compaq dx2200 wndows xp. nad using latest IE .any help would be appreciated, :)
im not real comp savy so yeh lol in laymans terms pls:)

Hi there,

follow these steps:

boot from xp cd

on startup screen enter

press F8 to accept license

if you have already an operating it will prompt for repair

to bypass repair press ESC for fresh installation

use arrow key to select partition were to create partition and install windows

select type of partition ntfs or fat

after formatting process it will reboot ,then follow instructions on screen
